A South Carolina man who killed a New Mexico State Police officer found out his fate in Federal Court on Monday. Jaremy Smith, the confessed "Cop Killer," was sentenced to life in prison after killing state police officer Justin Hare last year. There were a lot of tears and loud silence in the courtroom, but the loudest sounds were the giggles and cries of Hare's newborn daughter, whom he will never get to meet. It's an act of violence that Hare's family said deserved the death sentence. His mother and father said their last words to their son's murderer in federal court Monday. "I mentioned to him that I'd like to see him put to death. That's my stance on it, and I haven't come to grips with forgiving him yet," said Hare's father. "There's a lot of anger.
