Is the new Twister movie any good? ›

This is a movie that I really think you should see in a theater on the big screen. There is a lot of action, and the storm scenes are awesome. I really liked the new movie 'Twisters'. The acting was great, and the soundtrack is loaded with some of the biggest names in country music right now.

With over $25 million grossed so far, “Priscilla” will soon likely become Coppola's third largest commercial success to date, and her biggest in almost two decades, after “Lost in Translation,” which made $117 million, and “Marie Antoinette,” which finished on $60 million.

Priscilla is well-acted and suitably sad, but be prepared for a slow-moving movie that can feel more like a series of scenes than a complete story.

Based on the available sources, it appears that the film is a broadly accurate though naturally incomplete account of Elvis and Priscilla's relationship from their first meeting in 1959 – when Priscilla was just 14 – to their divorce in 1973.

Twisters is certainly well made with a talented core cast. It is far from a bad film, but I found the story to be familiar and predictable as far as disaster films go.

Some of the story is predictable at times, characters motivations flip flop, and some of the science in the movie may just be movie magic. Despite all of that, Twisters is easily a summer blockbuster done right and a great time at the movies. So if you feel these types of movies, chase them!

While the stories are comparable, Twisters has the more well-rounded and complete narrative. There are more fully realized characters in the modern movie, as Glen Powell's Tyler Owens and Daisy Edgar-Jones' Kate Carter simply have more depth than Helen Hunt's Jo Harding and Bill Paxton's Bill Harding.

Where "Twisters" clearly earns its PG-13 rating is violence and frightening situations. There is plenty of destruction and death throughout the movie. Nothing is graphic, but the tornadoes and constant danger could be scary for some younger audiences.
